An Empty Mailbox

The problem with communication is the illusion that is has occurred.

~Goerge Bernard Shaw

To me an empty mailbox is a metaphor for an empty life. My mailbox is always stuffed full of catalogs and surprise packages, occasionally a card or letter from a friend, magazines, bills (blah!), and the never ending junk. Does that mean my life is full too? You bet. When you're living an empty life you keep peering into that empty mailbox waiting for something to fill it up. But the reality is you have to go and fill it up yourself. I get catalogs because I order from them, I get magazines because I subscribe to them, I get letters because I write letters. The same goes for life...talk to people and they come into your life, give of yourself and your life will be as full as my mailbox!
